If you're married or in a long-term relationship, the chances are you and your partner share the same wishes: protect each other first, then look after the children. Mirror Wills are the simplest way to put that into writing — and they're one of the most popular services we provide across Oldham, Rochdale and Tameside.

What are Mirror Wills?

Mirror Wills are two separate, legally valid Wills — one for each partner — that mirror each other's wishes. Typically, each partner leaves everything to the other first, and then to their children (or chosen beneficiaries) if the other partner has already passed away.

  • Two separate Wills, not one joint document — each person keeps full legal control.
  • Each partner can still include personal gifts or specific wishes.
  • They're quicker and more affordable than two entirely bespoke Wills — from £240 for the pair.

Are Mirror Wills right for every couple?

For many couples they're perfect. But if you have children from different relationships, own property from before the relationship, or want to protect your home for your children after your partner passes, you may benefit from a Protective Property Trust alongside your Mirror Wills. We'll always talk through your situation honestly before recommending anything.
